Who we are
Pause is made by Pause (Mumbai, India). This policy covers the Pause app on Android and iOS, this website, and the Kapi store.
What we collect
Account: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account ID. We store them with Firebase Authentication and Firestore to keep your account and settings.
Feedback and referral codes: anything you type into the feedback form, and an optional referral code, are stored in Firestore.
Usage data on Android: with your permission, Pause reads which app is in the foreground so it can step in before you scroll. This is processed on your phone and is not sent to us.
Usage data on iOS: Pause uses Apple's Screen Time features. Apple processes this on your device; we never see which apps you use.
Diagnostics: Firebase App Check and basic crash and performance signals help us keep the app working. No advertising identifiers are collected.
Accessibility service
On Android, Pause uses an Accessibility Service for one purpose: detecting when a paused app opens, so Pause can show its gate. It does not read screen content, passwords or messages, and it sends nothing off your phone.
Store orders
When you buy from the Kapi store, Razorpay collects your name, phone number, email and shipping address, and processes the payment. We use these only to ship your order and answer support requests. Razorpay's own policy governs payment data.
What we never do
No ads. No selling or renting your data. No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs beyond Firebase.
Your choices
Delete your account and data from Settings in the app, or email us. Revoke Usage Access or the Accessibility Service any time in Android Settings; Pause then stops gating until you turn it back on.
Children
Pause is for people 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
